Spoiler: Season 1 and 2
This is in no particular order. It is yet another post to appreciate and admire the artistic choices the creators of Dandadan used. It is more like a rainbow order.
You can read The Rainbow Or Dandadan first if you would like. It is not essential to understand this post. So if you want you can jump right in.
If you forgot this is a series I was starting to talk about the bright prominent colors. Those that happen during a fight that make you feel some type of way. The ones that have us going from excited to uncomfortable in merely a couple seconds.
Let’s get into it. . .
- Red

Okarun (Turbo Granny Form)
At first the color red isn’t always associated with good things. Though somewhere through it all we start to not get as stressed.
In the beginning, bro gets his abilities because a thousand plus old Yokai decided to steal his balls and essentially cursed his body. At first he couldn’t control the rapid changing of forms. Along with having zero idea on how to control the powers he had gained.
Okarun makes the best out of it. Going through training to be able to combat against other dangerous Yokai and Aliens.
To the point that the feeling starts changing to excitement instead of thinking that we are all heading into a life or death situation.
He started feeling at home in this form he was practically gifted. Even though at first it was everything, but that. Okarun becomes more confident the more he trains and learns this new body’s abilities.
- Orange

This scene with Okarun and Momo was something to be desired.
Sometimes the color orange can be bold and in your face. When used here it brings a soft and gentle feeling. That may be mixed with a dash of uncertainty.
It is just two teens that are experiencing feelings that they may have never felt before. Showing the carefulness that two people have when entering a new stage of life. Wanting to be a little more cautious or nervous about the outcome.
Are the feelings natural or something that will ruin something good? This choice of color makes them seem like they are in their own little world for just a few seconds. Until they are pulled right back into reality.
- Yellow

Mr. Mantis Shrimp and his son Chiquitita.
When we are introduced to Mr. Mantis Shrimp, he is in line with the creepy perverted aliens. Not that he wanted to, but because he needed a source of income to be able to afford his son’s blood transfusion.
With them yellow doesn’t feel uncomfortable or on edge.
It becomes a father that is willing to do anything for his child. Even if that means doing something they deem to be questionable.
He doesn’t stay on the Aliens side. Explaining his situation to everyone and eventually they become friends. Later even being able to work together when there is a threat. You can honestly say that they welcomed him to their side.
- Green

The Giant Buddha Robot.
It was controlled by Kinta Sakata, a character that was introduced not that long before he discovered that the paranormal was real. He was a tech smart and had the opportunity to use technology that wasn’t from his world.
At first it didn’t come easy. Nobody knew how to work the giant robot made from Nanoskin.
Sometimes the color green can feel chaotic and unwelcoming. Though it can also represent someone who stays calm and thinks about the predicament they are in.
Honest bro started to cook with that shit. Being able to figure out how Nanotech works in just a couple minutes. Realizing that all he needed to do was visualize exactly what he needed it to do.
He had been studying it on his own for a while. So this was a dream come true for him.
Mixed with Aira and Momo’s abilities too. They locked in and took the Space Kaiju down.
- Turquoise

Momo’s Psychic Abilities.
This was when her powers had finally awakened and at that moment I was absolutely screaming in the best way possible. Even though she is confused with what is actually happening, her power is strong and confident.
Every time after her natural abilities just flow right out.
Also it might not always mean that she knows what she is doing. Nothing like that at all. Momo is visually stressed out most of the time while she is fighting.
Though more and more she gains confidence to trust her powers. Or maybe she is just holding on for dear life and in some scenes that is exactly what she is doing.
Choosing turquoise as her color though almost brings a calmness and powerful feel to her character.
- Blue

Acro Silky’s Death.
Every time I watch this scene I can just feel the longing for peace that is mixed with so much sorrow.
This was a woman that endured so many things. That sadly became too much to bear alone. Having literally everything taken from her. Acro Silky was a mother and one that cared deeply for her child. Not having her child would end up destroying her.
Showing her having a sliver of peace and then ending it all. Deciding that it wasn’t worth living anymore in a world that just wanted to be cruel to her.
I also fully heartedly believe this is one of the most beautiful death scenes, but also the saddest when you understand what is actually happening.
It is calm and peaceful. Until it’s not.
- Purple

This is Evil Eye after Okarun basically gaslit him.
Bro is literally a whole child. Therefore Okarun decided it would be the best option to take the older brother role.
Which makes it hilarious because bro came up with a whole plan. Convincing Evil Eye that he is weak and can only try to redeem himself once a week. Then every time after that when he appears he is questioning if it is the day to fight.
Also he is not as enraged when he comes out anymore. Though I will say he is a bit more curious about normal things people do.
Using the color purple in a way that is almost calm and innocent.
It made Evil Eye more manageable than he was in the beginning of the series.
- Pink

Aira (Acro Silky Form)
Acro Silky transferred her soul to Aira after she almost killed her. Lending to Aira receiving all of the powers that she had. Almost similar to Okarun, but not quite the same.
We haven’t really seen the full extent of those powers. Honestly I don’t even think she knows. Which is why training is important.
The one day she did, that only happened because she followed Okarun and Turbo Granny to the school. I will say, she did impress me a little. There were a couple times where we saw a sliver of what she is actually capable of doing.
Even with that she still shows confidence and strength. Though a lot of the time she can be perceived as arrogant.
