Spoiler: Shibuya Incident Arc
Happy Halloween.
It is October 31 and we all know what time it is. I should be over here dressed up, having fun, and munching on some candy. Instead I’m over here stressed out about how Gojo is sealed in the prison realm. Oh and maybe the fact that Yuji was forced to eat 10 fingers while he was unconscious, bringing him to a total of 15 overall.
Forcing Sukana out.
Kenjaku knew that if Yuji was fed Sukana’s fingers all at once then his body wouldn’t be able to handle it. Leaving him to have a front row seat to watch “What Sukana Did to the Neighborhood“.
Which happens to also be a post OT wrote about as well. Going more in depth about what went on that night.
Immediately killing Mimiko and Nanako because they demanded that he kill the fake Geto in exchange for one of his fingers. Deciding to challenge Jogo where they proceeded to obliterate every building that was in their way. Then Sukana forbade Panda, Atsuya Kusakabe, and everyone else in a 100 meter radius not to move while a giant fire ball was coming at them. Unless they wanted to be killed.
This alone had already destroyed part of Shibuya.
Then he finishes off Jogo with his own speciality. Seeing whose firepower is better. Which of course was Sukana’s, but he admired him for his strength because he was a stronger curse.
Next thing we know, Megumi is summoning Mahoraga and Sukana is running to his rescue. Which is when we learn that he has plans for him that are unknown at this time. He needed him alive and well.
Sukana started moving so fast that Mahoraga couldn’t even keep up.
So much that the shikigami was just punching the air. Evolving because it is meant to adapt to anything and everything. The fact that Megumi summoned this fascinated Sukana.
Domain Expansion. . .
Malevolent Shrine.
His domain doesn’t even close off to one particular space. Manifesting an innate domain was described as trying to paint a picture in the sky without having a canvas. Being a divine feat. The maximum radius comes in at 200 meters, but he shrinks it to a 140 meter radius limited to the surface. Making sure it wouldn’t affect Megumi is the process.
He uses 2 types of slices in his attacks.
Cleave aims to attack things with cursed energy, while dismantle attacks things that don’t have cursed energy. Both attack everything until Malevolent Shrine is gone.
Defeating Mahoraga.
While innocent people are caught in the cross fire. Those in the 140 meter radius didn’t even understand what just hit them. One minute they’re there and the next they aren’t. No longer in existence.
Then at the end of it all Sukana has the audacity to say to Yuji with so much joy on his face.
“You little brat, be sure to savor this feeling forever.”

Then they switch back. Yuji is back in control, staring at the rubble, and has all of the memories of what just happened. His face changes immediately, falling to his knees, begging to die, and throwing up from how overwhelmed he is right now.
Then Mappa starts playing “You are my special”. While Yuji is having his first mental breakdown of the night, it is just the beginning.
Sukana knew damn well what that was going to do to him.
This was going to break him because all he is thinking now is that he wasn’t strong enough to stop it. Even though it was Sukana that was in control, it was still his body being used. Therefore that would mean he is also a murderer.
Sukana wanted him to break, wanted him to feel small, for whatever sick plans he had going on.
Yuji decided at that moment that he needed to keep moving because if he stopped then he is as bad as Sukana. Maybe even worse.
The problem is that everything doesn’t slow down either. Things just keep building on top of each other. So much that I was ready for this arc to be over because not too long after. . .
Yuji found Nanami right at the time Mahito was about to kill him. Watching that happen. Leading into yet another fight that is designed to dissolve Yuji’s mental stability.
Then Nobara shows up and now I am not sure if she is dead or if she is on the verge of death. Either way it was because of Mahito.
Sending Yuji into his second mental breakdown of the night because apparently he just can’t catch a break. Getting to the point that he was fully willing to let Mahito kill him and he wasn’t going to fight back at all.
He didn’t think life was worth living anymore.
They broke him down.
Then Todo makes his appearance, saving Yuji, and reminding him why he needs to keep fighting. Even though this night has already turned into something that will haunt my memories long after halloween night is over.
That all being said,
We hope everyone is having a better night than what Yuji is currently experiencing. So dress up, have fun, and go munch on some of your favorite candy that you gathered.
